From One Beloved Local Eatery…
Negril was founded 45 years ago by Earl Chinn. Beginning with a restaurant in Washington, D.C.’s Adams Morgan neighborhood, Negril quickly became a beloved local eatery, renowned for its authentic Jamaican cuisine.
Driven by a passion for sharing the flavors of his homeland, Earl expanded the business in 1985 by establishing a manufacturing facility in Kansas City, Missouri. This strategic move allowed Negril to produce its signature Jamaican patties, coco bread, and other products on a larger scale.
Today, Negril continues to thrive under the leadership of the Chinn family. With locations throughout the tri-state area, Negril offers a diverse range of products, from fresh-baked goods to frozen meal options. The company remains committed to its core values of quality, authenticity, and customer satisfaction.

Negril Jamaican Eatery opens in Washington D.C., bringing authentic cuisine to Caribbean expats and local fans.
1985
Negril’s first manufacturing facility opens in Kansas City, MO, allowing Negril to scale production.

Negril opens Silver Spring restaurant location

Negril opens Mitchellville restaurant location

Negril moves manufacturing to Laurel, MD to keep up with demand.
